tours wrapping up today with the final candidate for uni's presidential search speaking to students and staff. kwwl's jessica hartman has an overview of all three candidates and the future of u-n-i. jessica? as early as tuesday next week --- the regents will select three men -- each believing they know what is best for growing the uni community. first on the list -- neil theobald former president of temple university theobald - "i love that uni's history is so tied to teaching, which is where i started and continue to teach each year." the second choice -- interim president jim wohlpart. wohlpart - "to take a student and help them find their purspose and passion in life and marry it to a vocation so they can go out in the world and offer themselves to the world." and mark nook chancellor at montana state university billings. nook - "there is a value proposition, a public good to higher education that has been lost in a lot of the conversation."

temperatures getting colder by the end of next week into the week of december 12. a morning of shopping quickly turns chaotic and deadly -- as a pick-up truck slams into an iowa walmart, killing three. this happening in pella -- where a 9-1-1 call came in just before 10 this morning regarding a truck that drove through the meat and grocery entrance of the store. tonight -- word that two of the three killed worked at the walmart. a woman who works nearby describes what she heard to kwwl just moments after: "we heard a large boom sound, and knew it came from the wal-mart. so we looked over at loud-speaker that walmart announced please evacuate the building over the loud-speaker and saw people coming out of the building and standing

the driver of the pickup truck along with one of the victims were taken to the hospital. their conditions aren't known tonight -- the tragedy appears to be an accident. meanwhile -- a driver traveling the wrong way crashes into a as police there say the driver went the wrong way down a street, hit a car and then crashed into the store. some of the building collapsing due to the impact of the crash. both the driver and a passenger in the truck were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. no one else was hurt -- and no charges have been filed. in a kwwl follow-up -- a book, some consider controversial, will still be allowed in one area school district. kwwl's brad hanson joins us live from the telegraph herald

one parent brought forward a complaint against the book the perks of being a wallflower. but after a lengthy meeting tonight, that book can still be used. this was the scene tonight--more than one hundred on hand for this special committee's meeting. anyone could make comments tonight, and enough speakers to fill three hours came foward. the overwhelming majority of book and the right for it to be taught. after most of the people had spoken, jodi lockwood, who originally brought the claim, got up to withdraw it. the committee still officially had to vote, though, "i think what stuck out most to me was just the fact of how much this book can really impact people. there were so many people who said they read this book, and realized

child pornography. at a plea hearing -- rindels admitted that he recieved the porn between 2001 and last year. he will also pay a one-thousand dollar fine and must serve a seven-year supervised release. a former school bus attendant found guilty of enticing three teens -- will serve 11 years in prison. 20-year-old tyler konigsmark was sentenced today following a september guilty plea. konigsmark admitted to using the snap-chat app to request sexually explicit pictures from three girls -- ages 13 april and may this year. according to the department of justice -- the girls rode on the school buses he was present on. konigsmark also admitted to having sex with the 12- year-old girl. he will register as a sex offender and serve a ten- year term of supervised release after prison. a car hits a cow in eastern iowa. take a look at the damage here -- this happened on monday night in

a 24-year-old woman hit the cow while driving west bound. the collision caused an estimated five-thousand dollars in damage -- but the woman and her two passengers were not hurt. another police department in the state is joining the ranks of departments across the country -- by starting to wear body cameras. in the past week 26 body cameras have hit the streets in marshalltown. the department will have the cameras activated on all calls, traffic stops and other encounters with the public in to keep the video stored for up to 180 days -- and longer if it is being used as evidence. continuing coverage now -- with president elect donald trump back on the road -- and out in public -- for the first time since his election night win. he hit two states today -- making big announcements as well as thanking voters that were key to his victory. brian mooar as the latest tonight. on his first official trip battleground thank-you tour.
