it's around here somewhere. nope. nope. what is this thing? sir, have you looked in the basement? huh. oh, yeah. no wonder. it was hidden behind all of my free weights. if you're not an expert, peco can help. we have lots of ways to help you save energy and money. peco. the future is on. donald trump is president to millions but analysts say he's more and more alone in the white house. this after a flurry of staff departures and president hint of more shuffling of key posts amid the russia investigation. >> it is the top issue this morning on "meet the press." joining us for a preview of the show is moderator of "meet the press," chuck todd. >> good morning chuck. >> good morning, dray. we're looking at a commander in chief who continues to lead an administration with more drama and adding more chaos to the west wing.
7:53 am
we've seen this before. is there something different approximate what happened this past week? >> i think what's different is the toll it's taking on the president's inner circle. the fact that now he's lost hope hicks. somebody who as one person described her to me, the rosetta stone of the trump presidency. you went to her sometimes to figure out how you talk to the president, how you pitch an idea to the president. whether this was a good mood day or a bad mood day with the president. leaving her as a filter, a buffer, that's gone. the fact that the president's son-in-law is under more seemg by mueller. it's becoming clearer and clearer, he and ivanka probably have to go back to new york. that's why there's this feeling, i think, of uncertainty around the president himself. he doesn't know who to trust around him. he is -- sudden i everybody with him during the campaign is gone. is that impacting how he's making policy? it sure look like it with the tariff decision which came out of nowhere. all of his west wing aides were
7:54 am
advising him against it, except one. he decided to go with the one aide. i think all of it is creating a lot of nervousness on capitol hill. yes, it's familiar. but it seems different. >> chuck, you bring up the tariffs on u.s. steel and aluminum. seemed like a bit of mixed messaging when it came to trade and certainly when it came to gun control. what's going on here. is president trump going to stick to the proposals or go to a more conservative message? >> i think the chaos behind the scenes is leading to this chaos on policy. it really is the president running point here, willy-nilly and you're not sure what to make of it. obviously, it looks like he may be repeating a pattern. remember what he did on immigration in public and what he did on guns in public and walked it back. i wouldn't be surprised if the markets get hammered again on monday due to the tariff threat.
7:55 am
if he just walks that back on tuesday and says, well, we're going to impose these tariffs if there isn't some sort of change and he finds a way to somehow quietly walk it back. i think that's what makes this administration so frustrating for some in both business and in politics. you don't quite know where he stands on a given day. >> "meet the press" moderator chuck todd. thanks for being with us this morning. >> thanks dray and rosemary. >> "meet the press" comes your way at 10:30 right here on nbc 10. today in camden, a flag raising ceremony will kick off march across the state. veterans will join them at the noontime event. for 75 years now, every president has recognized march as the month to highlight how the red cross helps people around the world. >> they call it a long ride for a reason. dozens of people hopped on the bikes in lifetime fitness.

participants dedicated a 4-hour replay spin class to raise money for san diego jude children's hospital. our bureau reporter took part. a lot of people exercising in m. inside. >> four hours. >> couldn't do it. >> you know what, it is a good time to be indoors. now today, later in the day, it will be better off. temperatures will start to pick up a bit. it's chilly right now outside. this is a live view from center city. they took the flags down when the winds were wicked a few days back. let talk about this ten-day forecast. again, this morning, it's chilly. this afternoon, afternoon picks up to 46. it will likely feel like the upper 30s due to still breezy and windy conditions. we'll keep with the sunshine on our monday and start to increase the clouds on tuesday. by tuesday night -- here we go

any collusion? >> we're not going to let this defeat us. >> take the guns first, go through due process second. >> we're still together for the rest of our lives. >> good morning and welcome to "sunday today" on this march the 4th, i'm willie geist. even by the new standards of this presidential administration, it was a truly wild week. president trump appeared at washington's grid iron dinner overnight, telling jokes after a stretch of days that included jaw-dropping comments on guns, tariffs, and the president of china. and that's just the beginning. chuck todd joins us to sort through it al
