county, and be seeing some rain like they are in nottingham this morning. so, temperatures are around where they were yesterday. we've got 53 degrees in allentown, 49 mount pocono, 57 here in philadelphia, 55 millville, dover, and wildwood. compared to yesterday, we're not that much different, maybe tiny bit milder, clouds and rain out there, winds out of the north, and it is going to be chilly today. yesterday we had the southerly winds, today winds picking up as well, could see gusts cents as high as 25, 30 miles an hour, especially getting further into the afternoon with the low pressure system, see the camera would be link at philadelphia international, 15-mile per hour winds, there is your 57 degrees, here is yesterday's high, which turned out to be better than expected with 70 degrees today showers, 59 degrees, thunderstorms. much more to come, 4:02 is the time. on the roosevelt boulevard

southbound between rhawn street and whitaker avenue we have construction there that has one lane blocked. turnpike in pennsylvania, westbound, between ft. washington and norristown, construction has the right lane blocked there. and on the turnpike eastbound between willow grove and bensalem, you guessed it, more construction, the left lane blocked there, kerry? >> sue, thanks. it is cents 4:02. we begin with breaking news out of philadelphia hunting park section, overnight fire sent two people to the hospital. >> fox 29's lauren johnson joins us live from that scene. lauren, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, chris, your heart goes out to the people left displaced by this fire, that is 18 people total, who are homeless this morning, the good news in all of this they are receiving help from the red cross, many of them still standing out here in the streets, red cross blankets, looking at what's is left of their homes. late last night there is all started around 11:30 p.m., in a two story row home in hunting park. the flames did spread to neighboring homes here on

north park avenue. looks like four homes total affected by this, less than an hour later the fire was contained, and under control. but not without causing some major damage for families. in all, 12 adults, six children, three pets, left homeless, two people were taken to temple hospital with minor injuries. >> we want to encourage everyone to install a smoke alarm, one on every floor, in every bedroom, if possible. smoke alarms, may not prevent fires but they do save lives and give you early warning to get out. if you cannot afford or do not have a smoke alarm, use the mayor 311 system. the fire department will come out and install smoke alarms in your home to make you safer today than you were yesterday. >> reporter: red cross cents is here on the scene assisting families, crews are here to try to get this messy

second possible siting in the area since friday. it has been a long six weeks for people living there. >> my little guy's in elementary. they kept calling mommy, please don't sends us, he's going get us. >> i hope they get this guy and none of them get hurt. >> prosecutors say frein gunned down state police corporal brian dixon and shot second trooper on september 12th. the search has cost nearly $10 million so far. >> this was the scene in rest philadelphia last night, where hundreds cents turned out in honor after slain biker, 23 year old tyrell tyler, known as birth weikel, laid to rest and fellow dirt bikers showed up. mother simply wants justice. >> i want justice. they know who they are.

sue here we are with thunderstorms in a few places, shower in a few places and nothing in a few others. see the loop of the last hour, the circulation around the low pressure system pretty much right over top of our area. as we zoom out little closer, look at places where we're getting heavy rain, looks like most of new castle county delaware, northeastern maryland, not so much to the north that far, but look out to our wells, along the shore points, around stafford, up in toms river, little bit of rain this morning, earlier in

atlantic city, smyrna, dover, getting some rain, as well. future cast is showing this continuing through the rest of the morning, on and off. again, not every place getting the rain every minute but throughout the rest of the day you could see some pop up showers and thunderstorms, as well, until this thing gets out of here. that may not be until tomorrow because as we head into thursday we will seymour scattered showers throughout the morning, throughout the late morning, throughout the mid-daytime, and then maybe drying up by the afternoon. so, for today, prepare to be chillier than yesterday. we won't get to 70 degrees again. 59 degrees will be the high, with showers, possible thunderstorms, 52 degrees tonight. 4:12 is your time. let's get to the roads. some of them are wet, some we've got construction going on, light, 295, there is construction that may cause some delays. ninety-five southbound between cottman and bridge, we'll work that, the left lane only gets by.

south philly, south swan son street at ritner, there is a vehicle fire there. chris? >> happening today, a church trial is set for pennsylvania. reverend defrock e initiating his sons ' same sex marriage will go behind the highest court, umc appealed his reinstatement in june, in the trial will determine if his defrocking was justified under church law. >> police are hoping that a reward and new surveillance video will break the case in a brazen armed robbery. it happened at a popular chickie's and pete's restaurant in direction i hill, delaware county, on busy twp. line road. two mask men put gun to the head of the manager forcing her and other employees into a walk in freezer. they looted the safe, got away with more than $16,000. the police chief says it was a set up. nobody was hurt but the reward for information leading to the conviction of the robbers is $5,000. if you know something, call upper darby township police.

homeland security says everybody coming to the united states from the hardest hit areas will be screened. this is at jfk, at newark, at washington, dullos, chicago o'hare and in atlanta. meanwhile, the un announcing today that a vaccine could be ready for clinical trials in january. >> let's take a look at other stories making headlines around the world for you today. disturbing story from canada, where the remains of four infants were discovered in a u-haul storage locker, called police yesterday after finding bodies during inventory check for delinquent storage units. autopsies being done to determine how and when these babies died. lead investigators say police are not aware of any reports of missing babies in the area, though. >> staying in canada for this. canadian soldier killed yesterday after hit-and-run accident which is now being investigated as a suspected terrorist attack. the deadly scene took place about 25 miles southeast of montreal. officials say the suspect tried to take off but lost control of his vehicle.

leaving a bible in a night club. christian evangelism is considered a crime in north korea. negotiations cents for the two other american prisoners are ongoing. colorado authorities say three teenage girls from denver may have been trying to join islamic state militants in syria after stealing their parents money and flying to germany. the girls ages, 17 and 15. they are sisters. and their 16 year old friends were reported missing after they skipped school friday. they were stopped in frankfurt, germany. airports over the weekend by f.b.i. agents in frankfurt, officials say the girls were headed to turkey en route to syria, and investigators are now reviewing evidence including the girls' computer hard drives. >> an absolutely heart stopping thing happened to a mom in minnisota letters she sent to her son ended up back in her mailbox with the word deceased written on them in big red letters. turns out, thankfully, he wasn't deceased. somehow, some way, though, the us postal service greatly

followed proper protocol. watts responds today that charge. >> hackers at it yet again, in their sites this time, possibly another giant staples. the office supply chain says that his contracted law enforcement about possible data breach. that means, hackers might now have access to credit and debit cards used at their stores. staples has given no additional details about this possible cyber attack. security expert who first reported the breach says it looks as is if staple stores in pennsylvania, new jersey, and new york city, were compromised. all right, one of the worlds' most renounded journalists cents has passed away. >> ben bradley was a long time editor of the washington post. just last year, in fact, he was awarded the metal of freedom by president owe bamm a he is best known for overseeing the post coverage of the watergate scandal that brought down president nixon. he also cents successfully challenged the federal government over the right to publish the pentagon papers on the us involved in viet nam. bradley retired from the post,

smyrna getting pockets of heavy rain right now. and as we look at philadelphia, maybe just a shower or two, little bit of rain in chester county, the southern part of chester county, as well. temperatures, they're in the 50's, but today, we expect them to stay in the 50's, because we don't expect as much sunshine as we ended up with yesterday. yesterday was actually better than expected. so, mid upper 50's right now. little bit warmer than yesterday, but not appreciably so. the same thing we brought you today, the wind, because the winds expected to gust as much as 30 miles an hour, throughout the afternoon today, with this low pressure system around. and winds coming in eventually out of the northeast, so, 15-mile per houris zero sustained winds, 57 degrees, and there it is, your high temperature yesterday, we managed to get to 07 degrees, turned out to be a delightful afternoon, for most of it, until the clouds came back, then rain, it will be 59 degrees today, with showers, thunderstorms, and winds as we said gusting 25, maybe even 30 miles an hour, throughout the day.

so, hold on to your umbrella, hold on to your hat. it is cents 4:32, let's get to the roads. on the route 42 freeway, northbound, between 534 and route four; we have construction that has the two left lanes blocked. also, on the turnpike between willow grove and bensalem, construction there, has the left lane blocked. and finally, in south philly, we have a car fire, south swan son street at ritner. watch out for that. chris? >> let's get to breaking news, sue, 4:32, overnight fire sends two people to the hospital, destroys several homes, the city hunting park section. >> fox 29's lauren johnson joining us live at the scene. lauren? >> reporter: hey, good morning to you, kerry, your heart goes out to these people left standing in the street, looking at what's left of their homes, out here in hunting park. another fire engine, just arrived here, the good news, also, is that red cross is here trying to help these people. let's take a look at some video late last night when this all started. around 11:30 p.m., two-story row home here in hunting park. fire chief says when crews arrived here, just two minutes

after the call came in, flames were shooting from that first floor and second floor of that first row home that was in question here. also, spread to the first floor, of the home next-door on north park avenue. fifty-eight minutes later, the fire was contained, and under control. but not without causing some major damage for families when it was all said and done, five properties were damaged by the fire, in all, 12 adults, six children, and three pets were left homeless. two men were taken to temple hospital with minor injuries. one good samaritan was driving by the homes here when he jumped out of his car and started knocking on doors. >> it was cents about help the people out of the house. i did anything else anybody else would do. >> we want to to encourage everyone to install smoke alarm, one on every floor, in every bedroom if possible. smoke alarms, they may not prevent fires, but they do save lives and give you an early warning to get out. if they can't afford or do not

corrupt organization possession with intent to distribute and criminal conspiracy. brooks' attorney says his client is taking responsibility for poor decisions cents. prosecutors say brooks and 25 year old kneel scott recruited and supplied dealers with marijuana, cocaine, and other drugs. scott's awaiting a court hearing next week. five other people have entered pleas in that case. all right, good news for south jersey philadelphia commuters both patco tracks are returning to service across the ben franklin bridge. most of the work is in fact done. that means, normal weekday patco service resumes with no scheduled track outages today on the bridge. four lanes to philadelphia are open again. and you can travel four lanes to new jersey during the afternoon rush. however, on weekends, crews will finish up work so trains will run in 30 minute intervals on weekend? right. people living near the bridge are so happy to hear that finally, yes. so that's the good news, this, maybe not so much. septa's largest union taking a vote sunday to authorize a
